It includes over 1.7 million specimens of vascular plants, fungi, lichens, bryophytes, and algae. Of these, about 1.1 million correspond to vascular plants (ferns and fern allies, gymnosperms, and flowering plants). The collections are worldwide in scope, but focus primarily on Michigan and the Great Lakes, with additional strengths in Mexico, Belize, Iran, the Himalayan region, Hawaii, Borneo, and the Philippines. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt; This digital collection contains specimen data and digital images of the nearly 10,000 "type specimens" of vascular plants at MICH.
